The writers of this show had such foresight that the answers to your questions often will be found in the dialog of previous episodes from before you even had the question. S2E2 @11:32 JONES: "It's the injections that we have taken. They render our bodies and consciousness impervious to the changes of time. Time shifted around us, and altered our reality."

I would suggest taking notes at this point. These are interesting seasons cause season 3 was burned off over a weekend when it aired (with 3-4 episodes a night), while season 4 aired over a period of around 4 weeks (with 3-4 episodes a week in one sitting). The shorter time span does help to remember certain details. Though on the plus side. The episodic nature of not burning through them as quickly as they aired, allows for more time to process a lot of what is shown on screen.
