probably over 90% of audience agrees with your review, cause it's TRUE, and that part about Adama(both of them)is true also, as in your review, same as part of the story, and while talking about military..remember that "bitch" Admiral Cain?..yeah, I like her

Ah the episode I always skip and have only seen once. Let's see if I like it more this time!

Nope not particularly lol. I agree entirely with the review and I wouldn't worry I think your opinion probably shared with the majority. Weirdly enough this episode is SOME people's favourite episode. It's been refered to as the Fly episode of BSG. I didn't like the Fly episode either but I think that one was better honestly.

I'm a bit surprised at the reactions for this one. It's not my favorite and I can see it being a bit boring as it's mostly about characters & relationships, but I've always enjoyed it. It's a nice change of pace and interesting to see the flashbacks to New Caprica. I'd much rather re-watch this than Black Market, The Captain's Hand and certain other generally low rated upcoming episodes. I'm curious if your opinion will change after having finished the series, when you've got the "whole picture" of the show and the characters.

Yea I always skip Black Market too haha, pretty much this and that are my two skippers. I don't mind Captain's Hand tho!

Yes I tried not to show it was uncomfortable too much but I hate that kind of brutality. Its not a sport to me at all. Im fine watching violence with context, but just watching someone be constantly punched till they pass out does not sit well with me at all.

Well, I'll be damned, I didn't know there was an extended version of this particular episode. Maybe it's just because I'm not used to it but I enjoyed it far less than the shorter version. Too much unnecessary exposition. I've always enjoyed this episode but this extended version just ruined the flow and slowed the pace far too much. What a shame 😔

Sigma957

I've finished it now. I was looking forward this episode but that version sucked! You should watch the cut version. Seriously!

This is the first episode that I really really disliked. The issues the characters fight about seem forced and sometimes just plain stupid. Apart from that I really don't like the boxing as a means of resolving conflicts; I mean how does beating each other up resolve anything? It's rather oil on the fire of preexisting personal animosity. Also, I think boxing itself is one of the most stupid sports.

I can't feel 100% too sorry for Anders and Dee. They both knew that Kara and Lee have a weird emotional/sexual dynamic, and they both hitched themselves to those two hot messes with their eyes open. I feel bad for them, but they made the choice to pay that emotional toll. And now they're both paying it. I've known people with this sort of weird intense hate/attraction relationship, that they pretend is just "buddies." Anyone older than 14 knows to stay well away from getting in the middle of ish like that. But I honestly love this episode -- every character in this show is flawed, and they're flawed in totally recognizable ways. The actors and writers do a great job of conveying that here. We needed this episode to fill in the blanks emotionally that were missing due to that time jump at the end of season 2.
