The setting is supposed to be the 80's which explains the phones and lack of hi-tech, although I did notice the lack of electronics and typical things kids would have in that period. The wedding is in Northern California in 2007 and the story takes place 20 years prior. Interesting take on the accents. What do you think of the narrator and the uncle's since they are both Americans? The girl actress is a Brit but I assume the accent is overdone for a reason.
