Monarchy
The monarch of Seleota is hereditary and the crown is passed to the firstborn of the current monarch, despite gender. If the monarch has no natural heir, the title will pass to the next in line (sibling, nephew/niece, etc).
The Crown Council (Goldis)
The Head of the Crown Council is appointed by the monarch and has traditionally been a place reserved for the original second heir (sibling of the monarch). The next heir to the monarchy is also expected to take a seat on the Council until the time comes for them to take the throne (ie. Nerissa).
The Head of the Crown council works with the monarch and other council members to select any other members required. These members may come from any of the four (formerly five) Councils, or other organizations that are ranked highly within the Seleota System.
Known Crown Council members include Auberon Peg'asi (Senior), Nerissa Peg'asi, and Auberon Peg'asi (Junior)
The Council of Essence (Orion)
The Council of Essence works closely with the Crown Council, and often its members are promoted to the Council on Goldis. Some of the brightest minds in the System lead this Council, and each of them has shown unwavering support to the Crown.
The Council of Eons (Tilaarin)
Leadership of the Council of Eons has recently shifted from Aelsa, mother of the late Ta'jean Peg'asi, to one of its younger members, Eldrid Mi'haden.
While the Council has always adhered to the Crown's law, they are restless and resistant to the control of Goldis. They have petitioned many times for the independence of Tilaarin and the right to rule themselves , to no avail.
The Council of Pearl (formerly Kitalpha)
Though the Council of Pearl was largely focused on the development and progression of its own planet, they worked closely with both Goldis and Orion in the sharing of resources and knowledge. When Kitalpha was on the brink of destruction, however, they found little in the way of aid.
The Council of Embers (Teranium)
The Council of Embers, while made up of some questionable members, has long done its duty to the Crown. Being the first planet of the Outer Ring, and lacking in any precious, natural resources, Teranium has been largely ignored by the Crown so long as its Council has adhered to their general rules.
The Council of Iron (Cursa)
The Council of Iron was long ago infiltrated by K'Merii, and to this day remains corrupted by the organization. For many years they have adhered to the law of Goldis, rather than risk bringing war upon their small planet, while working silently in the background to secure their independence.
Further Information
The planet Arcno has no Council or governing body. Being a nomadic species, the Arcnos continue to live according to their own beliefs and customs.
The only structure on the planet Botulin is the prison used for the System's hardest criminals. The inhabitants of Botulin adhere to the rule of Goldis and their laws.
