This Week's Chapters (August 29, 2022) (Patreon)

I was reading Chinese manga the other day (Manhua, I guess), and I was struck by how many 'son-in-law' stories there are. 

For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, the basic plot goes a bit like this: The main character marries a girl, usually because there was some sort of engagement, and all her family thinks he is a loser so he gains power to prove them all wrong and slap them silly, usually while saving the family business or other some other such thing. 

Which, I figure, is just about the biggest "In-laws, am I right?" there can be.

Really makes me wonder about the implications of it being popular enough that is has become its own sub-genre.
