A change in scope. Please read. (Patreon)
Content
Hello, all, thank you for taking the time to read this.
I had to face some hard truths about my time, stress levels and mental health. I have recently made a push here on my Patreon, and I have bitten off way more than I can chew; so much so, in fact, that my life outside the community has suffered.
I won’t get into the nitty gritty of it, but the take away is this: I need to change the scope of what I am doing here, for the moment, to a less commercial-based outlet.
As a friend of mine put it, recenter: focus on doing the work you love.
When said that way, it comes off a little selfish, and in a way it is, but the choices I have are to continue as I am going (which will lead to burn out and a breakdown) or to shutter completely (in which case you won’t see my work again, probably for months).
Anyway, effective immediately, I will be cancelling the Amora’s Cube promotion, and the Final Fantasy Image pack promotion. I have already contacted all people who have been given commissions; those clients will be given the choice of a refund in full (or cancelling the commission, if they would like) or completing the commission in some other capacity (with the same scope as far as art is concerned). Whatever their choice, any art produced will be posted here, and then publicly, following the same procedures as I have done in the past.
From there, I don’t know what you’re going to see from me. I had thought about suspending the Patreon, but I think I will still need to draw, still need to have feedback from you all. I think it will more likely be simple pinups like you saw before (the Supergirl / Batgirl, Zelda Inflation, He-Man bimbo, etc.). I really liked doing those, and you all seemed to have fun with it.
I am expecting many of you to decide to leave. I have no hard feelings toward you, and I appreciate you coming for the time you did. You’ll always have my thanks for your support.
I don’t expect this to be forever; I’d like to find the balance that allows me to do this, everything in my offline life, and allows me some free time as well. Until then, for those that stay (and for those who have supported me in the past) thank you so very much. This isn’t the end, just… me catching my breath.
Keep dreaming.
