I am a changed man after this film. There was Niall before watching Society of the Snow, and now there's Niall after watching Society of the Snow. What a film! Visceral, intesne, jaw dropping, emotional, raw... I can't even explain to you how much this film just floored me. It deserves all the Oscars it's nominated for. I can't even begin to imagine what these people went through, the sheer terror and trauma of it all. What a gut punch of a film! If you haven't watched it, DO IT!!

I came to your Patreon and subscribed specifically for the purpose of watching your reaction to this. It touched me in a huge way and I'm so glad that you were able to see the beauty for what is is. I've known about this story for a really long time and love watching others discover how amazing it is. Many people watch it and might think "yeah it's interesting, but anyway....." and just go on about their lives but for some of us - we think about it all the time. When it's cold outside I wonder how they did it. When I'm hungry cause it's 8pm and I've not eaten dinner, I wonder how they did it. I, like you indicated in the beginning, prob would have given up too. How did they not give up? If you are a reader at all or want more information I'm glad to gift you the book which has so many more insights and thoughts of what happened later.

It is believed that someone from the back of the plane survived the crash. Some reported seeing him in the snow far away, but even though they called him and screamed, it is believed he didn’t hear them. His body was found by the three guys who set out to Chile, but no one knows how long after the crash he died. His name was Carlos Valeta.
