One note on the 'Highlights' and 'Rimlights' layers- I took the base character color, with cel shading and small soft shadows, and made a merged copy of it. That's what the Highlight / Rimlight layers are made from. However, I also turned down the cel shading by like half on the copies before I merged them, to give an overall softer look on those layers. Just mentioning this, because it might not be evident from just looking at the final layers. ^ ^
