It was especially fun designing the schematic for Scinter's ultimate redoubt. Gun emplacements, sentries, caltrops, tripwires, mines- all to no avail.

The Mokokoi is not simply deadly- we can now reveal that it walks in a diffracted plane of reality, unseen and untouchable by all save its prey.

Revelations spill forth in Grunn's continued recollections.

Most terrifying nightmare: confirmed. And that's not heroism grunn!

Benjamin Varner

Oh dear, what a dangerous foe! Like how a toucan dreamkeeper design was still worked in, and those last two panels lol.

Death of Ink

Grunn....the f*ck?!

Charlie Ascende

Oh hell yeah! If that Mokoi happens to get me, I'll definitely win a one-on-one fight with it. No doubt! *brings out his heavy collection of arsenal to the fight* This will be a great challenge for the ages! >:D

All's well and good until the healer goes down.

Airvynk

I hope that healer is not DEAD dead, and he is capable of healing himself. How do you heal a severed head though? It at least looks like it's been severed.

Just when you think Grunn can't possibly be an even bigger dumbass than we already thought.

Willysilver

Is this how Scinter ends up with his collar? To keep his head attached? eeep

Lord Kiyo

Sure put him in pieces. And Darn Grunn. but how did he get healed if the healer is dead? Another healer?

Pat

I wonder if what we're seeing is Grunn's not-quite-true retelling of what happened. I certainly hope Grunn didn't actually gun down their own healer, otherwise why would the Troika have kept him around? He'd already given them the guide-coins, after all. (While we're on the subject of Grunn, I rather enjoyed the version of Grunn in Vol 1 because he seemed competent, despite being an abusive drunk.)

Synariel

Grunn thought he was in duck hunt ^^

Ebon_Sean

Holy crap. Why does anyone even use the word "incompetent" anymore when "Grunn" is a pretty apt synonym at this point.

Arukino

can we get the map as a single picture?

Brighttail Faux Pas

I'm guessing in the end, Scinter did indeed take his own eyes, which is why he has the goggles and probably the contraption around his neck. He devised another way to see without them.

I think that bird-medic's power revolves around stitching up people's heads back to its bodies that somehow automatically revives them. However, with him sadly dead by Grunn's friendly fire, there's always gonna be someone either similar or same type of power that will take the medic's place and start stitching/revive Scinter up completely.
