Welcome to our first backstage blog!

January's half over- but we've still got work to do!  And a contest to pre-announce at the end here.

First up, Prelude.   My que is dry due to Kickstarter mailing and getting the Patreon ready to launch- so, first order of business is to get a new update ready for Friday- and get plenty more in the works, so I can get back to a regular drawing quota.   I'll be drawing tomorrow, and likely streaming some shading on Wednesday or Thursday.

I've also got some commissions to tackle, to continue working through that backlog.

January's Volume 5 work is exciting- scripting!   I'm planning to get V5 scripted in January and February, with revisions scheduled for March.  It's one of those things that can't be rushed- especially when the choices made will be the foundation for thousands of hours of art.

Scripting doesn't make for cosmetic updates- but I'm sure we'll find something to post while we're working.  E )

The other big task for January is to get caught up- a lot was pushed aside during Kickstarter mailing.  I have hundreds of e-mails to attend to, plus feedback on some submissions to Vivid, I need to touch base with our music composer to see how we should handle the soundtrack he's created, I need to mail out Halloween contest prizes, and I also plan to create a spreadsheet of animations and assets for the DK game, to start getting those objectives organized.

Liz is working adding color to some Dreamkeepers art, for later sharing- and also prepping to begin sculpting the next round of resin DK figurines, in addition to the little Skitters ornaments that are in development.  (We'll post a link to Etsy when more are ready for prime time.

And last but not least- we're planning a contest for February!

A totally new one.

A #Dreamkeepers Hashtag War.

Participating readers will be divided into three factions- CCA (Central City Authority shock troopers), Troika, and Nightmares.

Each faction takes to social media, and attempts to recruit as many converts to their faction as possible.   At the end of the contest, we'll post a straw poll- and the factions vote to see who's the strongest.

Free hard-copies of Volume 1 will go out to the members of the winning faction.

ALL OF THEM- at least, up to the first 500 or so.

BOOKACOLYPSE.

I'll have more details on the contest posted later in the month, when we work out precisely how everything works- but as Patrons, you've got the earliest heads up.

There's gonna be an epic contest, coming soon to an Internet near you.   If you could use a spare book, or have some friends who might be interested in getting into the series, this contest could be just the ticket.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic night- and to tide you over while we work in January, have some Karo art!   It should be attached to this post.   It's my first Patreon post dealing with artwork, so let me know if I goof anything up.   Later!

Oh, and also- if you want to post the Karo art and share it anywhere, feel free!   We'll add it to our art accounts in a few days, but for now it's yours to play with.

That contest idea sounds really fun! The Volume 1 books will be the new edition, correct?

Dreamkeepers

Probably- 99% of our Amazon inventory is 3rd (Backers) edition. We'll be fulfilling via Amazon for the winners.

Awesome! Thank you. :) The backers editions are great because they showcase some of your later art so that readers can get an idea what to expect with your newer stuff.
