I highly recommend using UBlock Origin as an ad blocker. It's very simple to add-on to your browser and it will get of nearly all ads, pop-ups, cookie notifications, ect.. for all sites.

If you use Facebook, there is also an ad-on called Facebook Purity that gets rid of ads, suggested pages, 'fluff' posts like game invites, pokes, game updates, and even allows you to pick and choose things like colors or what you want to see.
