True- but in the context of previous upd8's, what I was prepared for was "Oh, Tavvy's gonna talk about Gamzee." Not "A child is going to be tasered", and still found myself caught off guard. Child Abuse, Electrocution is just one word extra.

Am I the only one who remembers that jane can resurrect people? Or has he used his (one resurrect) up already? For that matter, how come NONE of the god-tiers are using their god powers?? (sans vriska)

They're clear on the difference between the discussion of something and it happening on screen, so they already made the distinction. They would have said discussion of child abuse if that's what was happening. Not that they couldn't add more.

Mostly I think the use of full scale god power warfare would be devastating to the world so right now they're avoiding it. Also, Jane hates Gamzee and probably doesn't actually want him back.

Why do the writer's hate Jade and Jane?

Not gonna lie, there's been a lot of shitty stuff for all the characters. But my current oof thought for this chapter is that Dave won't find out about Yiffany. (At least till wayyy later when the timelines collide, as is bound to happen) Dave would have been the coolest dad/uncle to Yiffy.

They don't hate jade, in meat she beat down calliope to be free and showed her will. They don't hate jane either as she is being put on the right path back on earth c. In tcandy they are rather at their worst.

i think Candy is showing everyone at their worst at this point. I think this is in part because of what Created Candy. John being selfish. To be fair it saved hsi life but he was still being selfish. So people are pushed to be more selfish. And being selfish brings out the worst in people...

They do tho, it's not like Callie cannot re possess Jade in the Meat world, and Jane is seen as the irredeemable Honkler in both timelines, with only the mildest implication in the paywall content she is redeemable, otherwise I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't end up punished Dirk Striderscide style, because at the very least the writers, the Epilogues, and 2 are based on these girls being written so poorly and offensively, that stuff like Jane being Honkler, and torturing Jade's secret child, when none of this should be happening, but they are just going for it, because they do not like these characters, and we just need to accept it because it is how it is now, apparently.

i cant defend the epilogues, but hs2 has catnapped for jane and jade beat down calliope in meat, ripping her agency back into her own hands. we have no proof alt calliope can control jade again without some serious effort, which could be part of why she just went with dead jade in candy as for jane, her candy self is her literal worst self. shes a villain, a cartoonish one, and rather than backpedal what happened in the epilogues, theyre leaning into her ability to use subterfuge, political clout, and money to achieve her goals which is more than can be said for the epilogues where she just barked orders. shes a force in hs2, an actual intimidating villain as opposed to cardboard backdrop she was in the epilogues and thats impressive. its not good and jane sucks as a person, but as a villain and a character, hs2 is making every effort to focus in on her and i have no doubt were going to see more of what the fuck shes even thinking later as for jade, shes a bit selfish, but wouldnt you be if you were stuck in a loveless marriage and the kid that you put so much work into getting had to be given up because of fucking political situations? candy jade is blocked from happiness at every turn and shes absolutely justified in the way shes behaving. its not good or healthy, but shes a traumatized trans woman who never went to therapy and who keeps getting left to her loneliness despite her best efforts. its a wonder shes not worse! the writers are treating them the same as everyone else (again, except for gamzee because fuck that guy) and are giving the women of the story actually agency, flaws, motivations, and drama focused on them and each other as opposed to making them supporting roles for the guys and that is a marked improvement. love or hate them, but jane and jade are significantly more compelling here and im looking forward to more
