Yes. It's happening. The very first non-BMW on the channel! 2013 Maserati Quattroporte GTS with a 3.8L Twin-Turbo V8 pumping out 530 PS! Well, at least it used to, but given that it racked up a fascinating 301.000 kilometers (187k miles), it could be a bit less. :D

I bet you have so many questions right now, haha.
Plainly put, I sometimes feel I might've reached the limits of the BMW community and I've been wanting to try a different brand on the channel for quite some time. You know, throw a spanner into the mix occasionally.

Why Maserati? I was actually low-key looking for the previous Quattroporte generation with the N/A 4.7 V8 as that car sounds absolutely glorious. Then this one popped up on an auction site.

It was listed as 3.0 V6 Biturbo S Q4 which is meh, but upon looking closer at the pictures and the VIN, I realized it's actually a GTS with a Ferrari F154 V8 engine that can be found in Ferrari 488, where it has a flat-plane crank and dry sump, while in Quattroporte it has a cross-plane crankshaft and wet sump. I couldn't find exact sales figures for the GTS, but Maserati sold 4,264 examples of Quattroporte from 2013 to 2021 according to some data, so GTS is going to be pretty rare. 

Why did I buy this one? The price. It was listed for 18.5k buy-it-now. So I did.

I don't understand how they made a turbocharged car to sound so good, but they did and I was sold.

How much do I know about this car? Same as you do after writing this, haha. The description said under damage: scratched alloy rims. That's it. Nothing else. But, if you look closely at the picture of the speedo, you can see that it's running and has a check engine light and airbag light. 

It's supposed to arrive this week at the Dojo, and if it does, you can expect a video pretty soon. Place your bets now if the engine is toast or not. 🤣
