Update on project Chicago and project Marbais (Patreon)

Successfully went on a strawberry run with the mighty Alpina!
Happy to report that this time around it survived the test drive and then some! I've put 320 km (200 miles) on the B7 so far and the engine sounds great. Runs and pulls clean, I've done 3 oil changes and the engine seems to be breaking in nicely. I even went back to the same place we started knocking last time. :D
I did make one mistake during assembly that cost me 2 days of troubleshooting, but more on that in the video. I'm planning to do the engine break-in period of 1.000 to 1.500 km and then we'll go full send. Video coming beginning of next week probably as I'll be out of town this weekend.
And some awesome news on project Marbais, E30 320i. She's back from Poland and fixed up, as if nothing happened!
They've done a tremendous job and I'm very satisfied with the quality of work. The paint match is 101% spot on and you can't tell the front end was repainted. Under the hood, all nice and tidy and again, you can't tell anything was repaired.
Not gonna lie, I had a lot of sleepless nights and stress over this so it makes me so happy to see it all back together looking the way it should. There will be a video on the E30 soonish, need to put back the cooling system, some missing trim, put Eibach springs...
Once the car is finished, Sébastien and Michel (the original owner) will come to Frankfurt to reunite with his E30 and drive it.
Anyhow, I'm really happy with the Polish body shop, the whole experience from beginning to end was great and the next car that will go there is project Marseille, E31 850i. It's currently just collecting dust and waiting on its turn.
The 2-post lift from Bendpak should arrive in July and once we have it installed, I'll drop the engine and gearbox from the E31 and then ship the chassis to Poland to be completely repainted back to the original color. In the meantime, I can focus on the engine and they have enough time to deal with the paint. I have a big, big craving to continue with that project so that's the plan there.
As always, thank you so much for your support and for being here!
