Part 3 of project Marseille has landed! This is the one where the glorious V12 comes back to life!

I honestly didn't expect it would take this much work to get it running, but I persevered and the engine is singing again. A huge milestone and the next step is to get into a driving condition.

Took me a bit longer to finish the video cause of the Hans sketch. I'm again goofing around, hope you like it :)

Thank you all for your kind support!

Back in Service After 10 Years - Garden Find V12 BMW E31 850i Revival - Project Marseille: Part 3

In the previous episode, stripped spark plug threads stopped us from attempting to start this car. In this one, we address that issue and go for its first start after 10 years of hibernation. We also have special guests making an appearance. Be sure to watch until the end and see if this big V12 lump will still work properly. Great to see the ccar running again. :) Just a small heads up on the connector just above the passanger side headlight next to the air fillter box, there are some sparks that can be seen at 37:51into the video (also before but i didnt get the time stamp). Keep up the work.

What an eye you have! Watched this so many times during editing and didn't notice it. It's the headlight connector, I'll take a look at it tomorrow.

I noticed the same arc on the connector over the left headlight. Someone else did on the YouTube comment section too. Ocd fans

This episode is a real blast!

Super video thank you, loved the Hans antics - augh those pesky thread extractors, never had any success, swear they're an invention of the devil just to make bad situation worse ;-)

Wow! The grande dame is alive again. Very nice. And thanks for the sketch! One question/remark regarding the jack pads: Wouldn't it be smart to remove them while driving (keeping them in the boot or the garage) and only use them if you need them? Or would that be too much of a hassle?

Great video as always. Good to see the experts back!

Excellent work!

After you re-thread the spark plug holes do the adapters stay in the cylinder head or do they come out with the sparkplug the next time you change them?

m539restorations

Few times that I removed the plugs, they always stayed in the head. I think I mentioned that in the video.

m539restorations

Not a bad idea but then there's a hole for water and dirt to collect. I think it's better to leave them on.
