Part 9 on project Cologne has landed! Upgraded the front brakes with 330i brakes and installed M Sport control arms. Recently a check engine light popped up so we troubleshot that in this video too. I also took apart a good chunk of the car chasing some clicking noise that turned out to be nothing.

In other news, we have Falken tires onboard! They sent me tires for the E46 and E60 M5 which is awesome! I've had Azenis FK510 on the M5 for 3 years now and they've been brilliant so I'm really happy about this development. Hopefully, they stick around.

Regarding the E39 M5 in Sweden, I'll be likely heading out to Skövde in the first half of May to look at it. Can't wait for that!

I'm also going to start bringing back to life project Marseille, E31 850i next! Hans & Knock might make an appearance too. :)

Thank you for being here!

Make It Stop & Steer Better - BMW E46 325i Touring - Project Cologne: Part 9

In this episode, I take apart a good portion of the car for no reason and fight off a bumblebee. The Touring misbehaves and rewards me with a check engine light. We also upgrade the front brakes with 330i brakes, big calipers and rotors and install M Sport control arms. Such a good episode! Are you going to go over the exhaust upgrade you did?

m539restorations

Ah yes. I was planning to when I bought new Reuter/Eisenmann exhaust, even filmed the installation, but the damn thing was droning so much at cruising speeds that I took it off and sold it. Then I bought some random used Japanese made exhaust, wasn't expecting much so I didn't film anything, but it's been awesome, stainless steel, no drone, lovely sound but not loud and obnoxious. I'll take a sound video and include it in the next episode.

Yes! Those rims look amazing.

Wonderful episode. Where has your evil twin gone? 😅

Sreten, ever think about a sponsorship to protect your brainbucket? 😅 I've lost count how many times you've hit your head. Car looks good, congrats on getting Falken onboard!

It’s funny that you mentioned maf cleaner being useless in your experience. It seems the same to me but I only had one faulty maf so far.

Hi Sreten, quick question. How do you establish which OEM made that particular part for BmW?

Anonymous

May I ask where you sourced the cheap calipers and brackets? Thanks:)

m539restorations

Hey Nick, that would be a very long topic to cover here but check out this very good explanation by FCPeuro, it even has listed which manufacturers are OEM - https://www.fcpeuro.com/page/oe-academy

May I ask what phone holder that is? I need a good fitting one for my e46 so bad.

Interesting video, love this quality E46. It's great to see you working on a non-m-car. Youtubers/magazines are so obsessed with the "apex" cars that I think they often miss out on how great some non-m BMWs can be.

What bluetooth adapter have you used in your e46.?
