Welp, this project series certainly had a lot of surprises in store for us. Absolutely nothing went to plan with the very first non-BMW project.

This was the last thing I expected would happen. I'm still having difficulties wrapping my brain around how quickly the engine went. But, such is life. I took a gamble on a high-mileage Maserati, lost, and learned the hard way why someone didn't want to fix it in the first place.

As you will see, the engine is shockingly poorly designed and cheaply built. I know some of you will say to give up and let it die. I gladly would, however, I am too deep now and I would lose even more money if I were to scrap it.

So while the news is gloomy, it's not all bad. I actually already sourced a replacement, super low-mileage engine that's arriving tomorrow. I should have it back in the car fairly quickly, and if all goes to plan like it did so far, we should get at least 10 minutes on the Autobahn this time. :D
