I'm going to a place I've wanted to visit since I was a kid - Hawaii! But, not before making a pit stop in Phoenix, Arizona.

In the spirit of the last video, where feedback is mostly positive, for those concerned about broken BMWs, you needn't worry. I got another one, lol.

This was sorta unplanned, but as we started planning our trip 2 week-long trip to Hawaii, I received an email from a subscriber who has an old friend in need - a 1991 E31 850i with a 6-speed manual (of course!).

Clean title, 87k miles, bone stock, 2nd owner, black on black. It's been off the road for about 7 years, parked due to an issue with the GM module that was draining the batteries.

After exchanging a few emails, the price was too good to pass up and I bought it. Now we are flying into LA, and then on the same day driving to Phoenix with my buddy Nick. I have only 2 days to revive this sleeping beauty in the owner's garage, get it roadworthy, and drive to LA from where we fly out to Hawaii. No matter what happens, we can't miss that flight so it's going to be interesting, to say the least.

I'm again working with our friends from Bimmerworld on this project. They kindly supplied me with the parts needed to revive the E31. I ordered a bunch of tools and sent them to the seller's house as he is moving and doesn't have any tools. I gotta say, I'm slightly nervous, but also very excited about the challenge. This should be the 6th 850i 6-speed that I'm going to revive after a long time of standstill. A familiar, but always fun journey.

But, why another E31? Good question. In short, right place, right time, and right price. The plan is to drive to CA, and after we come back from Hawaii, we'll drive to Santa Barbara and visit some friends. After that, we are flying back home, and the car will stay with a friend in LA where it will be sold. I wish I could bring it back to Germany, but I don't need another E31, nor do I have time for yet another project. This way, I'm hoping to make a bit of profit so I can pour it back into the channel (after the Maserati is fixed and sold, I'm aiming for something big), and film a fun adventure for you good folks.

Anyway, just wanted to keep you appraised of the upcoming events. I somehow managed to finish 2 videos to post while I'm away for around weeks. Thank you for your support and love you all!

If you could only see the selection of BMW’s I have looked in to restoring in the UK…..did someone say RUST Need a garaged V8 with bad engine to play with but alas they are all full of holes

I still think an E31 deserves a V10, imagine OEM plus build that would be better than the concept M8 🤯
