REQUIRES: Death Interactions

I was a "vampirism is fun" user for a very long time but I had some issue with that mod in the past, like sims dying from casual drink while that was not supposed to happen... Now that I'm more confident in making my own mods, I made my own version of this too.

What's different: 

- I did not and will not make the interactions autonomous, I don't trust the Sims 4 AI at all.

- I did not touch the states, Vampires and Humans have the same gain and loss in hunger, energy etc as they have in the game.

- I totally removed the drama node, meaning the sms you get when you're supposed to be caught drinking blood, that happens even if you're drinking with permission from a Sim in your basement (who the fuck told you, Marcus Flex?! The spiders?!!)

- Deep Drink will not kill the target for sure, but has the chance to if the target's energy drops under -100, this is valid for night time visits, too.

- Small Drink NEVER kills the target

- Drink Uncontrollably though, that always kills.

- Drink with permission never kills the target.

- New Option: Ask to Drink from Neck.

I did not touch Drain Life Spirit, but I removed the drama node from there, too.

- Special moodlets and effects for drinking blood from different occult types.

- Option to have the possibility to drink from other Vampires to refresh the Vampire virus (it fills all needs)

MANIPULATE LIFE SPIRIT ADDON:

I reworked ho the manipulate life spirit power works, since it did nothing in the game at all. Manipulate Life Spirit now turns a Sim into Cattle.

Cattle have a special bar that shows their life force, once a sim is a cattle, draining the life force and restoring it will consume this bar. Now, the more you drain it, the more the cattle will lose the sense of self... they will start to lose memories, they will start to lose humanity, and they will start to lose weight. Drinking from a Cattle will consume them slowly, but will make the vampire (and the cattle) very happy.

Cattles also have a dependent relationship with the Master, if left alone for too long, they'll start to feel sad, and the life force will start to go down. As long as they stay around the master, though, they'll be happy. and will have various reciprocal bonus. 

Spellcasters can't be turned into Cattle right away, they need to be knocked down by draining the life spirit once, and after that, they need to have their magical power removed:

this turns them back to human. Draining Life Spirit from one of them once, though, will unlock the Manipulate Life Spirit power for them too:

with this power, they'll be able to free a Vampire's cattle.

A cattle can also be freed by:

The Master: using the free cattle power (not restore life spirit)

Another Vampire: using Restore life spirit.

There is an in-game book with explanations on how cattles work.

NOT compatible with Vampirism is Fun mod.

NOT compatible with Tanja1986's vampire megamod

(Sorry but this mod goes to modify a lot of vampires related xmls)

The MOD requires the XML INJECTOR. I separated the two interactions "Ask to Drink" and "Ask to Drink from Neck" so now you can choose between the two without any randomness.

INSTRUCTIONS:

- The mod is now divided in modules

- You NEED the MAIN file

- choose ONE version of the Night Time Drink

- choose the ADDONS you want

- choose ONE version of limitless drinks

- pick ONE version of the STRINGS or the mod will have no text

ADDON - Manipulate Life Spirit

- Compatibility with c82 Tasty Flesh, her mod is not compatible with mine, though, there are instruction on how to made it compatible inside the .zip

Just a clarification: Some NPCs like Bartenders, Market Stall Vendors and other special roles have motives LOCKED, meaning that it doesn't matter how many times you try to kill them with deep drinks, with this mod they will not die, I will not make Deep Drink a sure kill as it's too useful to skill up. Also, most NPCs are pushed to go away when their motives are too low, so they may survive.

ADDED: Compatibility patch with YourFalseHope Love Bites 

Patches go in the overrides folder!

Read carefully:

The MAIN patch is ALWAYS needed.

The other patches are needed depending on the optional files you have from Vampires Can Kill AND the version of YFH mod you have:

IF you have YFH LoveBites_Vampires and my optional file drink from pregnant plus vampires (like it would be logical) 

You need: Zero_YFH_Patch_LoveBites_Vampires_FROM-PREGNANT.package

IF you have YFH LoveBites with no drink from vampires and my optional file drink from pregnant (like it would be logical)

You need: Zero_YFH_Patch_LoveBites_FROM-PREGNANT.package

This other two files are only needed in these cases... remember the MAIN one is always needed for the two mods to work together nicely. Both mods need to be OUTSIDE the overrides folder for the patch to work.

Thank you for remaking this. The autonomous one never worked for me anyways but lagged my game up really bad. Plus they drink autonomously when hungry enough.

Honestly... I opened up the mod and found kind of a mess and some errors ( like the small drink one) but I will not make an issue out of it, errors can happen.

Oops, I completely missed the "this is valid for nighttime visits too" part and got my first spellcaster Sim murdered by Vlad on her third night of life lmao. Your mods really make the game more exciting and I can't imagine life without them now!

just to be clear, the Default Animation version replaces the vampires drinking from the neck only instead of the wrist, correct? >< plus all them other modification goodies you added... If I want both options, just the V2 then, correct?

You need the normal version if you want them to drink from neck. Default animation keeps the in game animation.

Ähm, just to be clear, if I choose the V2 versions...the "normal" versions shouldn't be used? I mean it's not correct to to download all of these files to put them ALL in game? I'm a little bit confused - sorry ;)

You need just one file, V2 Magical drink or V2 without Magical drink same for the blood name. You need only one file in your folder.

What about Pregnant Sims? PB had a few modules that allowed drinking from Pregnant Sims.

Unlimited drinks is already included into this, it's not compatible because they use the same files.

Just a random question does this mod also change the name plasma to blood? I have a mod that does that but if this does it I'll delete that so I can use this

Nope. Only the string I added are named blood. The maxis ones are untouched, you still need the other mod.

One, one has the plasma named blood and one has the plasma named plasma, that's the only difference. You also need one version of the night drink but not the drink with permission.

So the NighTime_KILL.package, does that work like Drinking Uncontrollably and always kills or like Deep Drink and only can kill? I wasn't clear and just wanted clarification.

Yeah, sorry.... it only can kill if the victim energy drops under -100, otherwise it just makes the sim faint... though, is very easy that the energy will be low already during night time.

I'm getting MCCC's last exception error and it bugs out the ending animation of drinking from someone. Is anyone else getting this? EDIT: So the MCCC error only comes up when I drink deeply. Small drink works fine and as intended.

Yup, use the main special version. You need the xml injector and get both the options. get permission requires high relationship though

ok this is a fun mod I'm kinda glad my one sim who is now the grim reaper via mod is protected by the special restriction lol I tried to drink their plasma with my vampire sim but um yeah it told me the grim reaper does not possess any plasma :D I can't even use my vamp mojo on him which is awesome no vamps can even try to drink from him by mesmerizing him if I hoover over it says that he is controlled by forces too great for a vampire to meddle in lmfao. I'm really glad as vlad has been killing a few sims around town least this will keep my reaper busy with the deaths that have been occurring.

Is it possible to use the manipulate life spirits and alien moodlet on it’s own or with Vampire is Fun. I also use immersive Vampires does that conflict with Vampire is fun?

Pretty sure vampirism is fun modifies the drain life spirit interaction too, so no. I didn't really test it on it's own but as long as you have the xml injector it should work.

Soooo, the Vampire Manipulate Life Spirit is throwing me LEs every time I have it (and any other custom spells) in game. I was having the same issue with custom spells when the Uni update came out. The creator updated the custom spell book injector for on 11/18, I think, but I can't I'm still getting LEs (and also have no spell book injector log. Idk if you need to use a custom spell for the game to generate one or if the mod is just borked, but just throwing that in here in case it's relevant). Is there anything we need to do to update spells? I was really looking forward to more exciting occult on occult interaction.

Not that I'm aware of... I read around about LEs with the spellbook injector, but never had them... I test all mods with MCCC in my folder and it was not giving me LEs... may be some sort of conflict...

hey got a few questions. first one, is it ok to put this mod in an subfolder? like I wanted to use vampirism is fun but unfortunately that mod isn't working if I put it into an subfolder and I like to have my mod folder clean with every mod in its own subfolder. second question I have, can my vampire drink from pregnant sims with this mod? if not is the vampirism is fun drinking from pregnant sims compatible with this mod? (for some reason that part of the vampirism is fun mod is working even though it's in the same subfolder like the main file) and my last question is regarding the lifespirit update there you wrote "Also, the more you drain it, the more the sim will become like a vampire, without ever becoming actually one though" does that mean the cattle sim won't age and I can feed from him forever? and you also wrote "a Cattle cannot be turned into a Vampire unless is freed" does that conflict with MCCCs Risky bite settings? ( what the risky bite setting does is that all the drink options like deep drink, drink uncontrollably etc. have an chance to turn sims into vampires)

You can put everything inside sub folders if you use coolspear's resource config. I don't see why vampirism is fun would not work into subfolders (I used to keep it into a sub folder actually). I think the pregnant module is just the testset, I modified it too in the unlimited drink file, mine doesn't allow the drink from pregnant sims, but it comes down to deleting just one line in the xml. In any case, you can use the drink from pregnant sim module of ViF without my unlimited drink. Cattle will age like a regular sims.. they only get the weakness from the vampires. I don't know about the risky bite, never tried it... since I don't know how it decides the sims to infect, it may... cattle cannot be turned only because of a conflict in the UI, in case a cattle gets infected by the risky bite, it's always possible to free them before they actually turn.

Question: So lately when my vampires frenzy and drink uncontrollably on someone, that person doesn't stay dead. I get the notification that they died from overexertion and Grim shows up to cull the body and leave an urn or gravestone. But the second I move to another loading screen or changes households that person that was dead from being vampire drained is suddenly ... not dead anymore. If the sim knows the other sim their head in the relationships bar they don't come up as a ghost either. I can just invite them back over to the household and here they come walking still with a body and can re-invite them to join household or cheat them back. I noticed the problem first when a male vampire sim of mine, got abducted, pregnant, and eventually the child grew up as an alien. Dad has the Uncontrollable Thirst weakness and he came home from work and frenzied and the first sim he grabs is his daughter (the alien). He drained her and she "died" and an urn was produced and the game removed her from the household but she did not come up as dead in the panel. I just invited her back over and added her back. The urn isn't deletable or destroyable now either similar to what happens to sims that drink the "joke" broken immortality potion die off when you leave the lot by default. Several other vampire sims had similar miraculous coming back from the dead and not even in a funny way. Just curious if there was an update to this?

Hi Zero, just wondering how do "drain magical power" work? I've tried draining life force on spellcasters multiple times and the option to drain their magical powers never show up after draining their life force. Edit: By further testing, again, I don't know if I'm doing something terribly wrong but my vampire sim can't seem to be able to "free" my own cattle either.

Hey friend! I'm trying to use the "drain life spirit" option to turn a normal sim into Cattle, but as soon as the sims get into position the action gets cancelled without anything happening. Do you have any idea what might be causing the problem? Some aspects of the mod seem to be working (deep drinking DEFINITELY kills if i'm not careful, for example, and my sims are able to form negative or positive opinions) but I can't confess to being a vampire or drain their life spirit, neither can non-vampire sims offer their blood :(

No... I just tested it the other day to update the post. Try resetting both sims and trying again.

Drain life spirit, after that you can dry magical power when the Spellcaster is knocked out. As for the missing option, check/update the xml injector

would it be possible to separate the vampire biting vampire thing a little better? I just wanted that, but not with no limit. Yet was only able to once I added the no limit vampire addon. I can edit it myself, but this new part is very interesting but when looking just for it, it's a bit confusing where it was added to. I saw the tuning in the main mod, but as I stated couldn't actually use the ability til I added the no limit addon file. Also ever thought of making a side version of this.. with no death, just for the occult drinking moodlets and romance moodlet? I too used to use vampirism is fun but the whole no control of who dies thing, even with this... I can't let myself play with it fully. While I've made my personal edit... Maybe there are others who would want the same sort of thing?

Yes, I can make a version of the Vampire on Vampire without the no-limit, the tuning is the same though, so it will be a separate thing from the main file in any case. as for the death, you really need to look for it with this mod (only deep drink has the tuning for death if energy drops under -100, so it's the only interaction you need to be careful with in any case). an edit you can do is replace the DeathSuperInteraction: ZERO_death_ElderExhaustion with sim_EnergyFailure_FromPlasmaLoss so they will only faint and never die... I'll not make another version because it's already too messy to mantain as it is, sorry. I'll post a No no-limit version in a couple of minutes.

Night time visit, you can choose if it has the chance to kill the target (who is always your sim in this case, it's separate because it's easy to have a sim with low energy in that scenario)

Just a quick question..I had a mod that enabled my vamp sim to be able to see her reflection in a mirror, disabled hissing and she was able to eat food. I noticed since putting in this awesome mod of urs that it's not showing up in her sim menu anymore..is that to do with this mod?

Yeah they're messy but I can't separate better than this. You can have the no limit drink with or without the vampire drinking from vampires, and the no limit+drinking from pregnant with or without the drinking from vampires. I added a package for the vampire drinking only, that conflicts with every no limit option because it's still the same tuning.

I'm having an issue where I can't either free a cattle as a vampire/spellcaster (option doesn't even appear). Also, I can't drain a spellcaster's magic powers after I've knocked them out once with "drain life spirit" (again option doesn't even appear). I've removed all mods besides yours and the injectors and it still doesn't work, any idea what could be causing this?

Hey Zero, I have some questions regarding the mod that I could not understand properly - I have a cattle which I regularly drain from. Your description says draining life spirit from a cattle restores energy however drain life spirit interactions on my cattle consumes my energy? - Cattle's life energy restores whenever they sleep - Draining from the same cattle frequently (not deep drink) usually kills the target from overexertion - There is an interaction titled "drain vampire energy" but does nothing? I'm using roBurky's Meaningful Stories mod so my moodlets and emotions are usually stronger than default ones. Do you think this would cause any issue with your mod? Thank you for all your mods, I love playing vampires and your mods make it much much more fun than what EA brought!

Drain life spirit has a power cost, that's default maxis behavior... It should restore energy while the draining is in progress though. The life force of a cattle goes up when the master is around, this to compensate the fact that it goes down if the master is not, do they sleep in the same room? When the life energy is over they're supposed to die. As for the drain vampire energy, it should be present only on other vampires.

Good morning! I had a question regarding the installation of the mod. I feel like I must have done something wrong because the option "drinking uncontrollably" does not show when my vampire try to drink plasma from another sim. So far, this is what I've installed: - I downloaded the XML Injector mod (.v2 version). In the game page menu, it appears on the mod list, but when I try to test it out by clicking on the mailbox (with and without testingcheats on), as recommended by Scumbumbo, the test version of the mod doesn't appear, so I'm not sure that this mod is working anymore. Is it necessary to have this mod in order for "drinking uncontrollably" and the killing option to be working? Could this mod be the issue? - I also downloaded your mod and followed the instructions (1 main file, 1 NTD, all the addons, 1 LD (pregnancy), and 1 String (plasma)). I actually reinstalled it a few times, trying to figure out what I was doing wrong but didn't seem to be able to fix the situation. I do, however, have the new option to "ask to drink from the neck". - I don't have any other mods that alter the vampires. Is there any way I could fix that to get the mod to work, am I missing something? Thank you for your help, your time, and for making our gameplay more interesting :)

Update: I found the new version of XML Injector on their website, and this time the test file was appearing in-game. I tested out my vampire for a deep drink on a sim and it killed the sim so I'd assume the mod is working.. but I still don't find the "drink uncontrollably" option 😭

I would like to know that it is possible to unlock the bite by the wrist between vampire? for example, the master hunter feeds his slave who is still too weak to hunt. Please ?

Should be a bit more compatible now... This was the problem it had with LMS Sam mod too (I had left the vampire buff in the mod even though I didn't need it). Still not compatible with mods doing the same things though.

Drinking Deeply has a pretty good chance of killing the other sim in my games. Do you have any intention of releasing a version where Drinking Deeply won't kill no matter what? Would really appreciate that!

No, because this mod is already a mess to update as it is, sorry. you can do a little modification to the tuning if you're comfortable with it, it's only a matter of copying and pasting a line.

I know this is more sacrificial area, but it would be really cool if there where more ways for vampires to kill, like ripping someone's head of someone of something like that. What I am saying is that it would be cool if there where more violent death options for vampires to commit. Also, more ways to kill other vampires would be cool

Are you sure they don't kill automosly? I am sure I didn't tell my sim to drink deeply or whatever and the poor sim died. It was hilarious but I don't want a graveyard at the lot lol. I have to say the vampire club was interesting as they kept drinking each other dry lol.

Caleb keeps killing people although I think its the games fault, not yours. The game assigned him to one of those outside vendors and every now and again he'll lose control and bite someone.

For some reason, my “ask to drink from neck” option doesn’t work. It goes as far as the person agreeing to it, but my vampire never drinks. It stops there. Is there something I’m not taking into consideration?

Hi, I know this is really vague but it isn’t working for me...the files I have are “cankill-strings_blood” “cankill-nolimitpregnantplus” “canlillmanipulatelifespirit” “cankillnighttimskill” and “cankillmain”. I also have you immersive vampires mod and the most recent version of xml injector. It’s basically as if the mod didn’t even install - I have the option to ask to drink from neck, but nothing else is there, and it still says plasma even though I installed the blood package. Do you have any idea what might be wrong?

Probably the same that was wrong in her game. Read what I replied to her and see if that could make sense. I replaced some options not added them, and some need to be unlocked.

This was asked already a lot of times... Sorry but it's a script mod, it works with scripts and I don't do scripted mods... You need to ask someone who works with python.

Love this mod! It's brilliant! I just had an idea though, something similar to a feature that came with a vampire mod for the Sims 3 awhile back, but could you think about adding a feature where drinking from sims and/or getting bitten by sims leaves like a bloody mouth and bite effect? Just an idea that I think is pretty cool.

A new question, why does small drink kills? I used deep drink, sim falls a sleep, then I used small drink and he died.

The book can be bought in the bookcase under vampire secrets. The free cattle interaction is in the same menu as the other powers

Hello! Your mod sounds awesome, so I tried it out today. Caught myself a jogger and turned her into cattle. Built her a little cage in the basement. Sadly, after two small drinks, she died. This is the first Vampire mod for me, so no leftover files. I'd also like to ask what the point of making cattle is. I don't seem to be able to feed on them more often, to give them orders or have any other effects that make them more "cattle-like". The jogger just started to go home after I turned her, as if nothing ever happened. I turned her into a household member temporarily, so I could command her down into her cage.

I would like to see an addition to this mod where the "cattle" thing is extended to family. Right now other family members have to ask permission to drink from the cattle from the Master, but after a time they have to ask the Master again for permission to drink from the cattle. I think this mod is awesome. The husband offered himself to his wife as cattle, she accepted, now they are bonded. The daughters have to ask Mom for permission to feed from Dad, it's a loving family....don't judge!! LOL I would just like to have those permissions as default for all family members so they don't have to constantly ask Mom to feed off Dad. Now it's great for visiting vampires, I prefer they have to have permission as they are NOT family. And there are no random feedings going on.

hey! awesome mod! the only issue im having is with turning a spellcastor into cattle, i cant see the option to drain magical power

You can't turn them into cattle (unless you remove their magic of course) but the option should be there provided that you have the manipulate life spirit power unlocked

Awsome work and I use quite a few of your mods but I can not get this to work, exactly how can I kill an npc with this mod? I have family of grandmaster vampires and I wanted to see the grim reaper so I went to an elders home and began to drink deepy but I could not kill her, now matter how hard I tried. She just ended up fainting and in the end I had to wait for nighgt time and use magic since I have that mod of yours as well where vampires can learn just that. Deep drink doesn't kill because of an xp question (too useful to rank up, making it deadly would impact gameplay) uncontrollable drink kills (and you can user direct it when the vampire is very thirsty with this mod) and drinking twice kill (drink from the sim while they still have the recently drank from buff)

They need to be thirsty. The interaction happens autonomously (in unmodded game) when the vampire is either very thirsty or enraged. I made the interaction also user directed but still with the same requirements.

No plans to make it so that vampires actually can kill without being thirsty, like completely drain somones life spirit right away? I know its possible to kill somone during night with your vampire witches mod but honestly Im starting to feel that maybe vampires doesnt need magic, they can already do a few things as it is. I do like your changes to spellcraft though but maybe spellcrafting vampires are not my thing.

Could someone please help me.... I had the hardest time getting the xml injector to work properly but finally figured out the issue and fixed it.... Now I'm running into the issue of not being able to make people into cattle with the manipulate life spirit power. I have tried using it multiple times on many different sims but they never become cattle. I will admit I have been trying it by using a console cheat to completely rank up my vampire so that I could purchase the ability. Is that why its not working or could their be another potential issue. The rest of the modules of this mod seem to be working correctly with the exception of the the STRINGS Blood package not changing the word plasma to blood(I'm assuming thats what its suppose to do) Please help me.

Hey there... Test the mod alone with only the injector, this is very likely a conflict. The String "blood" only has my own strings with "blood" instead of plasma... There are a couple of mods already that do the job (and they only change the strings so they don't need to be updated even though they're old)

Does this mod need an update at all? Just tried to turn someone into a Cattle and it did not just did the normal Manipulate Life Spirit. Granted, to be fair, it was Caleb who attempted it and he also has the Restored Humanity trait. Does that interfere?

Nope, still works, just tested... check that you don't have another mod that overrides the drain life spirit interaction

Ok so I have been doing a bug testing game the past 2 days trying to figure out what is interfering with the "turning a sim into a cattle" not working. 90% of the mods I use are only 2 modders content primarily, LMS and you Zero, including custom spells, and a couple other tiny tweaks from other modders, a few small CC items like some dresses and horns and jewelry that goes on said horns, and then THE 3 BIGGIES. So I took out ALL my mods (including the 3 biggies MCCC/Basemental/WW) and installed JUST this mod. At first I thought the prob was fact the spellbook injector was (for some reason) not in my mods folder anymore. Reinstalled that. THIS mod worked as its supposed to complete with "turning a sim into a cattle" and sims actually dying when uncontrollably fed on. Then I put EVERYTHING back in and ran it again. THIS mod stopped working again (the turning into cattle part). But the cattles I created when ONLY this was installed still remained cattles for their master vamps and the mod worked as normal. The problem is the game isn't triggering NEW cattles being made. So first I took out ALL the LMS mods and ran it again. THIS mod still did not work. Put LMS back in and took out my "Other mods" (one or 2 tweaks from various other modders) folder, ran it again. Still did not work. Put OTHER back in and took out Basemental. This one did not work. Did the same thing for WW and MCCC each in turn. This mod still did not work. Took out the CC, still did not work. The only things I left in were the things it needs to, obviously, run in the first place like the spellbook injector and your deaths mod. Finally I deleted all YOUR mods and downloaded fresh copies of everything even if it had not been recently updated and ran it with ONLY your mods. And THIS stinker STILL did not work correctly (cattle creation.) I took out everything again and installed ONLY this one and THEN and ONLY THEN could I create new cattles. But the second I add ANYTHING else (including your stuff) it stops working. Short of taking out everything and doing a full blown repair of the core game files, I'm stumped. It doesn't make any sense WHY it would not trigger new cattles except when ONLY this mod is installed. It was working fine with everything else until I got one of the core updates from EA a few weeks ago. IDK wtf to do, aside just taking out everything else when I want to create a new cattle? *facepalm*

BTW the settings I installed were Kill at night, NO drinking from pregnant sims and other vampires (the basic one in other words), blood strings file. I guess I could try it with a different settings?

Did you try putting this one in the overrides folder? It seems to me like there is another file overriding the drain_life_spirit interaction.

Hey Zero. I cant seem to get "Zero_VAMPIRES_CanKill-NO_LIMIT_DRINK_PREGNANT_PLUS_VAMPIRES" package to work. It's greyed out with text "cant drink from another vampire" it used to work just fine. Ive tried all pulling deep foldered files in 1 folder etc. Im not sure what to do anymore. Ive tried different xml injector versions, im lost.

OKAY! FINALLY! I got it. I had missed the overrides part, it used to not be a thing. The link to cfg file is broken so I had to google the modified resource.cfg file and found it from some career related post. Got the file file, created "overrides| folder and it seems to work now. Wow. The hard work I went through :D

the drink uncontrollably killed a sim once for me then it stopped working. they now say they are having an emergency and have to leave or just stand there all sleepy. btw, is there a discord?

Request: Is it possible that EVERYONE doesnt ALWAYS cry after killing a sim with this mod? For instance, I hav an evil vampire and its immersion breaking that he cries every time he drains someone to death. lol.

Hi zero I absolutely adore your mods but I have a tiny question. Nearly every time my sim feeds on another, that sim is accidentally turned into a vampire. Is this something I can disable?
