I played RoM for about... 10 minutes.... as soon as I entered the magic realm, all my pre-mades were turned into spellcasters. I don't like it, thank you very much Maxis...

This mod should stop the madness, the game will use premade spellcasters or generate new ones for the role. Let me know if it works fine, I tested it but I need more inputs.

FOR PEOPLE BOTHERED BY RANDOM TOWNIES

Please try townieoverhaul_lessfame by Bienchen83

sims4me_townieoverhaul_lessfame_nonewlygeneratedspellcasters module might be compatible with this mod, as they don't use the same resources, but you may end not having new generated NOR new converted sims at all (meaning, you will only have the spellcasters you made yourself)

sims4me_townieoverhaul_lessfame_onlyrecruithomelessspellcasters conflicts with  Don't Turn My Sims into Spellcasters difference is: Bienchen's mod only converts homeless NPCs, mine totally stops Non Occults from becoming Occults.

Omg I love all your mods pls never stop making them LOL! Going test this one out right now!! Does it stop them from entering the realm of magic too or just spell casting?

zer0_Mods_

I just added a test to stop the game from turning NPC non occult sims into Spellcasters, it stops non spellcasters sims from entering the realm, but it doesn't stop played sims from doing it... non spellcasters weren't allowed in it already, the moment Bob Pancakes walks through the portal, is turned into an occult in vanilla game.

TheLibrarian

Thank you so much for making this mod, I already knew I hated NPC's turning up through the portal but then to find that they had been forced changed life state would have been the end! <3

Nivea

Thank you! This was actually stoping me from wanting to buy the DLC.

YourFalseHope

godsend omg I wasn't going to get the pack til someone made this mod... thank you greatly. Oliver and his bunnyfly also thank you. :)

Carol Branciforte

Thank you for all you do and your mods, your a gem i couldn't play my game without them....Thanks again.

Thank you so much Zero :) I was worried about installing RoM but thanks to you I think it should go smoothly :D

Thank you for making this. I do have one question: I installed the mod but I am still getting random townie spellcasters. Is this because the game is generating new sims so that they can be spellcasters or is the mod not working in my game?

zer0_Mods_

The game generates them... you have to make a couple of full spellcasters households for the game to stop generating them, the count spawn is between 1 and 10 sims on the magic venue, so it needs a fair amount of them. Also, the pre-mades spellcasters do not count for that role. The mod only stops non occult sims from being turned into occults.

Shino Nox

Really appreciate the quick save you did for us with this mod, I installed this before I even opened the new game because the minute I heard it was changing random pre-existing npcs into Spellcasters I was like HELL NO. Lol. I love occults in my game but I also like them to be fairly rare...I tend to have specifics Sims in my stories that are meant to be Supernaturals. Brings back memories of Sims 2 when the npc vamps would start turning people at random...didn't like it then, either. xD

zer0_Mods_

This is something that needed to be fixed right away, because it can really ruin a save game... i didn't load my main save either until I found a way to make this mod. Thanks for your generous support!

Thank you so much!!

Thank you!! You're an actual lifesaver!

Hi. I loved your mod but I’m having an issue. It works great with NPCs, but ever since I’ve started using it no matter how much my sims know the Sage (they’re best friends at this point) he says he won’t teach magic until they know each other better. I don’t know if maybe it’s conflicting with other mods I have but I tried to delete the ones that could do that

zer0_Mods_

ehi... It can't be my mod since it only touch the filter, but to be sure test it with only mine inside the folder.

Anonymous

thank you so much for making this! i can't wait to try it out and finally get back to playing my main save >_<

You are the greatest thing since sliced bread

Anonymous

thank you, I really like this :)

Am I screwed if I've already been playing and everybody turned into a spellcaster? I don't want to load my Sim family into a separate save (upload to gallery and download to new game) and lose all my relationships :(

Anonymous

What this mod does if I've already played RoM and some of townies are already made into spellcasters? Is it too late for me?

zer0_Mods_

run this fix https://www.patreon.com/posts/rom-fix-premades-29943067 but follow the instructions carefully, then install this mod.

hi, thanks a lot for your work. I just wanted to say that this mod conflicts with another one that blocks the generation of random npcs. It's not free anymore, so I removed it anyway from my game, but, there is any chance that you can create a mod that prevent the creation of randoms for the other jobs, like bartender, vet, librarians and so? basically I would like my resident non played sims be able to work in the world and not to turn into spellcasters. Thanks again :)

zer0_Mods_

You mean NPCC? What conflict does it have? I use it and didn't notice. You can try Bienchen's townies overhaul to block the randoms.. it works pretty well and I can look at possible conflicts as that mod is modular.

Ry

I feel like whenever they release a new game pack or update I have to download 5+ mods like these in order to play my game in the sensible way. Thank you for sharing this. You saved me from the aggravation

Marco Cantillo

Hi! Thanks a lot for this mod, but I think that it doesn't work if you have the "Import from tray" option on from MCCC. I still see random townies coming from the portal and when I install Bienchens mod with this one, (even when I have spellcaster saved on my library) it just doesn't generate any Sim so it uses ONLY the ones who live in houses I think.

zer0_Mods_

I never used that option.... my filter though should not use non occult at all as I blacklisted the NoOccult trait in the filter.

Timocchio1969

Zero you are awesome! Since the last game update is the "Dontturnnpcintospellcasters" or othe RoM mods needed?

zer0_Mods_

Yes. the only one you don't need is the bloodline fix IF you have the bug with the bar that never fills and you don't use the cheat to rank up.

I have a question. I do not have ROM yet, haven't paid for it or downloaded it or anything yet. But I've heard of this issue of non-occults being turned into spellcasters. I have a save in my game now that I've had for years consisting of only sims I've made to look like characters from things I like, so obviously I don't want all those sims being turned into spellcasters when I get the pack. Will this mod still work with an already existing save BEFORE I get ROM? Or does it only work with new saves?

zer0_Mods_

It will work. I made this mod for the same reason, I too have a long lasting save I didn't want rom to ruin.

i am new to mods and cc and i want to ask, is this a script mods or cc

Anonymous

Thank you for the mod! But I’m having an issue :( Everytime I put the mod into my mod folder and try to open my game through origin, an error pops up telling me I don’t have a proper graphics card to play the game and then origin gets an error and crashes. This only happens when I add the mod :(

zer0_Mods_

That's strange because THIS mod is only an XML edit. Did you try with only this mod in the folder? Maybe the file got corrupted in the download.

Anonymous

hmmm I disabled all my mods except this one and still got the error, redownloaded the mod and somehow that fixed it. I guess the file did get corrupted like you said, weird!

zer0_Mods_

Not so much... I had similar problems with downloads from patreon in the past.

Anonymous

I'm not sure if this is just me, and I can't figure out where else to post this, but when I click more posts to see all your previous posts, Patreon sends me to an error page.

zer0_Mods_

it's a problem with patreon, try directly the tag page https://www.patreon.com/user/posts?u=23229453&tag=Gameplay%20Mods

Evangelina Silvercloud

Hello Zero ;) Well, I have a question pls: Does "Paulsons - NPC Control Mod" conflict with this mod? I saw that Paulson offers for Patreons a new feature : *Magic Sim Count Modifier Controls number of Magic apprentice sims at Magic HQ Lot" . I'm not a Patreon of his mod but I ask if I would use his public version. Thanks for your answer in advance

mason S

This causes my game to crash after the update and I don’t believe anything conflicts with it, not sure if it’s just me

Anonymous

this mod isn't working for me :(

Anonymous

Hi! I hope you see this! Only unplayed townies seem to be affected by the no situational outfit part of the mod. Random generated townies still appear in their situational outfits and so do played sim families. I have multiple played households that are of sims I’ve created myself, and they’re almost all spellcasters and they show up in those crazy situational outfits. Is there a way you could make a version of this mod where the no situational outfit affects every sim with no exception? I don’t get why EA keeps creating these STUPID situational outfit triggering lots and worlds. They should know it makes the sims look ridiculous and it’s annoying when almost all of the sims in the magic realm look goofy. I hope you get this message and let me know if anything could be done about this! Thank you :) x

I think this mod might not be needed anymore. I have been playing a 100% clean vanilla game for 2 days straight for an experiment and in The Magic Realm I'm not seeing played/unplayed premades being thrown in the game suddenly made into spellcasters. Instead the game does what this mod does and generates new spellcasters on the spot to populate when you visit. Did they fix it and not tell anyone? I don't remember reading about it in any of the past updates. Am I trippin or can anyone verify?

zer0_Mods_

It was fixed some patches ago, I keep this in here because I still use it since I don't like the game to generate or turn homeless into occults, either. But you can totally remove it if you're fine with that.
