 In her everlasting pursuit to strengthen her bond with the elements and the title of Avatar, Korra agrees to undergo a series of brutal and life threatening trials the likes of which haven't been seen for a thousand years.

 For her earth trial, Korra is taken to the centre of the Si Wong desert, and chained to a large boulder, many times heavier than her own body. With only a small waterskin to sustain her, she's abandoned to fend for herself, and head for miles toward the nearest oasis. Like in the previous trial, she is forbidden from using her bending. The sun beats down savagely on her body, and even the metal chains scald her skin. She knows that she needs to keep up the pace, and as her legs give in she doesn't stop, dropping to her hands and knees and dragging that boulder inch by torturous inch.
