 In her everlasting pursuit to strengthen her bond with the elements and the title of Avatar, Korra agrees to undergo a series of brutal and life threatening trials the likes of which haven't been seen for a thousand years.

 In the first, Korra dives bravely into the frozen waters of the Northern Water Tribe. Her task is to recover a rare underwater flower from deep below the surface, and find her way back through the thick sheet of ice that refreezes within the minutes she spends underwater. The cold needling her skin is pure agony, soon joined by the utter burning in her lungs through minutes of intense exercise while holding her breaths. Her muscles cramp up and her vision blurs, but she is forbidden from using waterbending during the trial, and determined to succeed.
