For your viewing pleasure, here are the transparent + HD renders of Midbus in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate art direction! This was made possible with the displacement maps that were generated from the high poly sculpt.


Would you be surprised to hear that I had to shrink them down a little to upload them? The original, raw sizes of the renders were 8k! The zip includes all of the alt colors and the unique costume shown above!

Hey Sean, the renders look really sharp! If I might ask, what's the polycount on these and the in-game model?

Thank you, Bernando! I'm glad you like the renders! The CGI/Render Model Polycount ends up being around 120k when it is not subdivided When subdivided for rendering, it gets to around 8-10 million polygons. This is to make sure the displacement map works properly in the scene. If it's too low, it won't displace the surface correctly. For future stuff, I could probably optimize it a bit more while still getting that same quality! The In-Game Model is around 16k Tri.
