They skipped over all of the stuff she was supposed to show up in. So it's okay to tell them who she is. The knight is the reason they were able to get to the to the central continent from the Milis continent. The OVA episode is part of the original story from the LN. So it is extremely important to the story coming in season 2 and season 3 stuff. The child she protected is important later too. Also Terrance, reading the LN doesn't take away from watching the anime. If anything it makes your hype for the anime more! Also, if you like the anime, you should read up to vol 6 of the LN that way you can read w/o spoilers for season 2.

The thing I love about how Rudy and Eris end up parting is that they are both in the wrong and both in the right. Eris left because she idolizes Rudy and doesn't think she is good enough for him right now. She's also very traumatized by what happened with Orsted. She worded her message that way because she's not good with words and she was afraid that if she talked to Rudy he would talk her out of leaving him. Rudy misunderstood the situation because all that was on his mind was sex at that point. I like where the story goes from here because it's not solely sex focus from his point of view anymore. But where he ended up at the end of getting up, and prioritizing finding his mother, was the right call to make.
