There's different Jump comics. They were hoping for Shonen Jump. Akamaru Jump is a seasonal version of Shonen Jump that only comes out on holidays so the stories are usually non Canon and kind of holiday heavy. But Jump comics consist of different genres. Like Naruto, bleach and gintama would be in Shonen Jump but an ecchi manga like To Love Ru would be in a different Jump.

Glad you guys enjoying this, comedy is amazing but once you get to the action and character development, basically the meat and potatoes, they do an amazing job on that too so I can't wait

Akamaru Jump is the issue for rookies and amateurs wanting to catch a slot in the main Shounen Jump circulation. In other words, they missed the double issue special for One Piece/Bleach/Naruto etc. Until the break is over.
