The artist for this is so fucking good. Like the natural body shapes (as in people aren't cookie cutout humans). He draws people as lumpy and weird as the body is under the clothing. And the way the sword sliced thru that guy's chest? This artist has some realism talents all around. Even the coloring now that I think of it. The atmosphere is yellow and dirty. Like how you'd expect from an actual medieval times setting.

The vision problem is his level at the moment in my opinion (I didn't read it or anything) according to last episode he can pour or cut off mana to it and if he pours it into the eye he can see further ahead. He just needs to figure a decent time difference, cuz 1 sec to avoid getting sick isn't gonna cut it

He can go for easily more that one second, but 3 or higher makes so many different images of potential futures that it becomes a guessing game. That's why 2 seconds is best. It's not about him getting sick anymore.

plot development? i dont think slime knows what that is , i dont know about the LN but the anime is way to rush and the build up feels way to hollow like things only happen because the story needs them to happen or the plot cant move forward, and with characters being way to hollow basically caricatures lmao
