The brother is apart of the time traveling shit that’s why he stills remember...he said that in one of the earlier episodes that since he told him he was gonna die in the future, it changed the future by having just his sister die instead of both of them dying which then lead to him saving takemichi’s life...so i think if he tells you he can time travel or tell you something that changes something majorfrom happening in the future ( him dying with his sister) then you become apart of it

Getting some Re:Zero greed vibes when he wanted to save everyone, but he doesn't get any redos on life. Then again, there arent countless deadly creatures and things waiting to kill the main character. Also with how the time travel works, I think if it goes linear for his own soulless body, then the rest of the world changes except for the brother because of the link in his power or something. And I think the brother was just monitoring him, but I also just realized that he would have to be monitoring the mc for a while.
