I laughed super hard at the natto bit, since I grew up on it and am very familiar with it. It's actually great with rice, but it's also an acquired taste because it's fermented. Probably not easy for Americans to like to be honest, but I'd say it's worth a try. I'm one of the few people who never thought it was smelly and have always thought it was good. Actually goes great with umeboshi too. Natto + umeboshi on top of rice = mmmmmmm. XD
