Weine is just too damn cute. They are doing such a great job of displaying just how adorable she is. Also they are doing a great job of displaying the whole prejudice thing against monsters. It is of course somewhat justified because technically monsters are the things they go in the tower to defeat and in turn the monsters also try to kill them. The thing I am getting from this is that some monsters actually have a "conscious" like Weine does. I am not sure if majority of the people don't know about this type of thing yet or if they would be entirely against it no matter what. Either way it is sort of like what you have been comparing it to with the problems of segregation and racism back in the day. They all have a collective mind set of how things should be and don't want it to change. It would be kind of like Bell being a person of white color sticking up for people of black color against the majority that are already prejudice against people of black color (back in the times when so many people had this type of mind set). Except in this it would be normal humans and demi humans being prejudice against monsters. It would be hella hard to logically persuade the masses that already have that kind of thought process to change their way of thinking and accept someone else they were previously against. The only thing that changed this type of thinking with racism was years upon years of slowly changing and growing with one another and accepting each other little by little and it still hasn't fully been accepted. Although since this is an anime I wouldn't put it past me that Bell will simply somehow change the mind of everyone and monsters will end up starting to coexist with them. Maybe not though. It would be more interesting if the series didn't solve this really quick and continued breaking it down more and more just to show the true nature of how things like this really work....... I really typed more than I should have lol

But yeah, I'm psyched to see that harpy from the op. What bugs the hell out of me is how those ppl just completely ignored the fact Weine just SAVED that little girl, and the fact she's not even attacking anyone. Fucking ungrateful bigots, smh.
