What if this man Roswaal is just Subaru but the one that has failed and his return from death just took him a few hundred years in the past. This theory has nothing behind it, it merely came from roswaal saying you will become like me.

This episode had me wondering..... why is Satella really acting like Emilia all of the sudden? Was it Roswaal who actually summoned Subaru, and Satella is actually attempting to protect the one she loves? But why does she love him, when and how did she fall in love with Subaru? Did Roswaal orchestrate virtually all of the bullshit that Subaru has been through? WHO IS ROSWAAL? WHAT is he? "NANI MONO DESUKA????!!!" And soon as he magically removed the makeup, his speech pattern completely changed. Has everyone been misunderstanding Satella this whole time? (Though that doesn't excuse the fact that she killed all the other Witches....) Also... Echidna, Sekhmet, Minerva, or Satella..... who is the REAL best girl? Oh, and why the fucking is he still trying to insult them and talk shit to them, after they helped him? Like if they're as bad as he keeps making them out to be, they could have been doing so much worse.

I mean, I don't think it's too far-fetched of a theory. You could be onto something. One of his eyes is the same color as Subaru's. Obviously that could just be a coincidence, but on the other hand it's possible that it isn't.

My theory is that Satella is Emilia but like from the future, who then went back in time and became the Witch of Envy. It matches the whole time travel aspect of the power she gave Subaru

That is sort of paradoxical as they're not the same. Return by death starts Subaru back to a snapshot of time. With a similar power, Emilia and Satella would not be able to coexist. It would have to be a different form of "time travel". She does seem to be able to freeze time so it is not too far-fetched. The power of the witches relates to their sin, Satella also follows the trend, but I don't see an easy connection with time manipulation and envy. Though Satella's behavior has never really showed that much envy, she has been very compassionate. It was something she explained but we don't have the context.

I'm late as hell, but I'll still chime in. Witch Sloth has the same ability, but stronger, as Sin Archbishop Sloth. The "Unseen Hands". She didn't take a breath and knock Witch Wrath out. She took a breath out of annoyance that she had to step in and do something. She's like Shikamaru but on crack. She's lazy as hell, even to stand up. That's why her Unseen Hands suits her. She doesn't have to use her own limbs to do anything
