I'm thinking Roswaal isn't part of the cult, I'm thinking the book is the other copy that Beatrice has, that tells the "future." And I'm thinking the book talks about Subaru which is how he knows and why he trusted Subaru so much, so he has to tell Betty "I am that person." Just saying as well, the "I love you" while wearing headphones is super creepy.

Yooo, it somehow didn't even occur to me till I read this that Roswaal could have the other book out of the two that he said existed. Also yeah, she got all up in your ear with headphones on, shit spooked me. They definitely did some good audio work there with that.

Pretty sure Roswaal had one of the original books that the gospel was based on, he said there were two in existence and Beatrice had one. Also, I don't think the Archbishops (pretty sure that's what you were considering Roswaal to be) are allied with any of the original witches or vice versa, since the witch cult seems only concerned with Satella. Since she killed all of them I doubt they have fond feelings for her or anyone following her.

To be fair, it seems pretty obvious that the witch cult as a whole only cares about Satella (a la Betelguese never once bringing up the witch of Sloth, despite him being the Sin Archbishop of Sloth, and going on and on about Satella). So I believe it’s fair to assume that what Sin the archbishops align themselves with and their powers don’t mean anything to the actual witches of those sins themselves. This is just speculation of course, and I’m open to the fact that I may be wrong. I’d have to go back to the episode where puck tells Subaru about what gluttony did to Rem and whether or not he said is was the Archbishops power or a power of the Witch of Gluttony herself. As for why he didn’t ask in general, it probably just didn’t occur to him in that situation since that’s not what he was wanting to know at the time. For us viewers, things like that seem more obvious to us than the characters themselves. It helps me to remember that sometimes.
