I get that his looks are far above average, but outperforming a normal person in both intellect and martial arts are still feats to be proud of, even if it's just slightly. I wonder what kind of test the emperor gave him. Like what would be the point of putting Jinshi in charge of the rear palace aka the courtesans? Remember, they said only eneuch and men related to the emperor are allowed in the rear palace... Also I get the sneaking suspicion that Jinshi wanted Mao Mao to take the court lady exam just so he'd have a better chance to actually be with her. You know, by raising her status.
