As always, beware of flashing lights!
The trees outside were blurred using gaussian blur and then the bloom effect in Procreate! I think the exaggerated bloom lighting really helps to sell the 'anime screenshot' vibe :P

using the dotted leaves for the trees then using the blur for the background like that is actually really genius. That was really fascinating to watch. Also, before colors, in the time lapse there's only a few frames where there's no shading to suddenly mostly shaded for both characters. Is that an algorithm or are you just super speedi quick?

Thanks so much!! I use the lasso tool to map out where the shading will go, and unfortunately Procreate doesn't pick up on that in the timelapse videos it generates :') so that's why you go from nothing to fully shaded then cleanup

Oooh, that makes a lot of sense. That's still really impressive that it's so accurate right off the bat. Same with getting the sketch shapes early on. I could watch that process all day
