Zakopane is a mountain village/tourist trap full of charm and souvenir shops.  We stopped here for about 2 hours on our way to Krakow, and by that I mean we turned a 1.5 hour trip from Rzeszow to Krakow into a 5 hour trip from Rzeszow to Zakopane to Krakow.  We had to drive an extremely reluctant minivan up a mountain to get there.  And it was 100% worth it.

The bottom picture shows a plate of grilled oscypek, a sheep cheese the region is famous for.  This was the best thing I've ever eaten in Europe.
