School of Lust v0.4.4 Progress Report #3 (Patreon)

Hi everyone!

We thought it's about time to post on what we've been up to and how things are progressing with the upcoming School of Lust update. This is going to be a long one, so please ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ with us.

First things first; There are still a few minor additions and adjustments left to do, before the new update is ready and will hopefully be worth the wait. We can't give an exact day at this moment, but we're doing the best we can to release the new update as soon as possible, and we'll announce a release date as soon as we start the internal testing stage. The progress bar on the front of our Patreon page has been updated to reflect the minor tasks that are left to do.

The new dating scene has still been the primary reason for the long development time for this update. After implementing the animated scene to the game, we've had some issues rendering two (very complex) animated characters at the same time, which required us to do unexpected changes to the scene. We finally have this working quite well, without significant performance drops. There are still some minor tweaks left to do, and we still have to finish implementing some of the other scenes, until the new update will be ready for take off, but we promise that we're close now.

Here's a sneak preview of the colored version of one of the animated scenes featuring Sofia and Violet that we've teased a while back:

We asked you guys when we teased (a rough sketch of) this scene before, on what you think they were doing, and all of you were so... so wrong. As you can clearly see, the girls are part of the Illuminati (cult) and flashing the (upside-down) Illuminati symbol! This is how Illuminati members appoint their new leader.

In other words, they're asking the MC to join their twisted cult as their cult leader. The cult's primary goal is to satisfy their leader and to recruit everyone else on the island. Sofia and Violet are the top ass-ass-ins of the cult. If anyone doesn't agree to joining the cult, they get smothered to death!

I'm obviously making that up, or am I? It wouldn't be the weirdest thing to happen in the game. The answer will be revealed soon!

And here's a very rough sketch / teaser for an upcoming scene featuring Claire (and no it's not a bondage scene).  Any ideas what could be happening on this scene? I bet for Gip's virginity that you'll never guess it...

Expect a lot more content featuring Claire in the upcoming updates.

We've hired the voice actor for Natalie who got the most votes in our recent poll and she has already voiced all the minimal voices (reactions and nsfw voices) that will initially be added to the game. Thank you to all of you who have voted. She was our first choice as well.

You can find a short sneak preview of some of her NSFW audio recordings at the top of this post. This will play during h-scenes (with added sound effects of course!). I made sure to add a warning track at the start of the audio, in case anyone is listening during a funeral.

(Hmm... I realized after posting this that that funeral "joke" might not be very appropriate right now, with what's going on in the world, so sorry if I offended anyone!)

The other voice actor that auditioned for Natalie (and most of you liked as well), is being considered for either Sofia and Violet. You'll hear her again soon!

Next up, we'll be looking to hire a voice actor for Flora. We'll do the same as what we did with Natalie and post it here on Patreon for you guys to help us decide. Keep in mind that the voices will be optional. We know that we won't be able to please everyone and we'll give you the option to disable the voices if you prefer to do so.

We would like to speed up the development progress and hopefully release beta by the end of the year, so we've also spent quite some time pre-planning this past month or two, including (but not limited to); creating assets, animations and writing dialogue for updates that will follow after this one, which should help us release content much faster after the upcoming update.

Some of you have contacted us regarding an Android version for the game, which we posted about quite recently. We plan to release an Android "test build" right after this update. Stay tuned for more details about that!

And to those of you who are worried that the Android version might affect development time of the main builds. Don't worry! The exclusive features for Android (e.g. touch combat) have already been developed and it should be rather easy to deploy.

Last, but not least, we've had a few comments about Nicole's body measurement quest that was in the latest version (0.4.3b) of the game. We gave you a choice that has rather significant consequences.

SPOILERS AHEAD. Close your eyes and ears if you haven't yet played the latest version;

• Choice #1: If you decide to tell principal Scarlett the truth about Nicole, she will not accept Nicole to Harfort and a "new" scene (memory 51) will unlock, where you have to take her body measurements for her uniform.
• Choice #2: If you lie about Nicole to principal Scarlett, she does get accepted to Harfort. This path currently has not been developed.

This seems rather unfair, especially now that some of you can't unlock memory 51, however keep in mind that choice #2 is in development, and will unlock a different scene instead (which will still allow you to unlock memory 51). We haven't yet decided if we should make it possible to view BOTH scenes when you access the memory from the memories map, or only the scene you've unlocked. It would eliminate the appeal for a new playthrough if you can watch both scenes. What do you guys prefer? Let us know by commenting down below.
