I’m very proud of Show Down. It’s been a long time coming.

It’s slightly over an hour, so strap in. I think it’s worth it. The performances are incredible.  I'll publish the script on all tiers, although serious spoiler alert there.

It’s a version of the classic “hypnotic duel” for control, featuring seasoned and acclaimed actors Bliss and Magenta. However, that classic narrative is definitely spiced up. It’s much kinkier and more intense than the other “duel” narratives I’ve seen and heard. There are at least four power shifts, and some serious plot twists. I genuinely think it’s the best example of this genre.

It’s a narrative – meaning it’s a story that you’re listening to. It frequently breaks the fourth wall to include the listener in the hypnotic experience as well, though.

The backdrops and effects are pretty carefully laid out, so that there’s a combination of “psychological” sound effects as well as Foley-type scene establishing effects. You’ll find a number of tricky subliminals to justify repeated listening.

It’s lesbian. There’s maybe one reference to an unnamed “he,” but the reference itself isn’t even sexual. I do think, though, that if you are a fan of mind control and brainwashing erotica, you’ll enjoy this regardless of your personal orientation or gender preference.
