Well, one of the possibilities could be that Natsu's semen might be heated up enough where a bunch of the sperm is probably overheated due to his dragon slayer magic, making pregnancy tougher. Sperm needs to be kept at a certain temperature, so any big enough drops or rises to the sperm cells will kill them off.
