In defense of Mariah's sister, Mariah should have given her, and any other people mentioned in the book, the heads up about their portrayal in it so they can have the option of being taken out of the book if they didn't like the way they were being portrayed. You need to give out consent forms to people that you film on whether you can use their image in your video, so I don't see why it would be any different in book form. At the very least instead of being too detailed, Mariah could have been a bit vague and said "a person I grew up with gave me drugs" instead of "my sister gave me drugs", that way Mariah could still tell her story without directly putting shade on her sister or anyone else and avoid potential lawsuits like this one.

They both must have had fucked up childhoods. I honestly don't know if her sister is in the wrong. Clearly she wants money, but Mariah could literally make up some shit about her family and everyone would be on her side because she's Mariah Carey.
