This episode saddens me. You were talking about the student who wanted to be a professor and an author and your words of encouragement meant a lot to her. 20+ years ago my thesis advisor did the opposite. He took advantage of me. He stripped away my confidence and my self worth and it still plagues me to this day. I’m so glad there are good mentors in the world like you and Bob. I just wish I had one who believed in my capabilities and not me as an object.
