Actually I have no doubt she cut his finger off. Because in one of the recordings she is screaming and wailing "I did not mean to do it!" "He's going to leave me now!." This is the recording of THAT day, when his finger was cut off... And his doctor and nurse are heard on this recording looking for his damn finger saying that she did it. The body guard was too. This recording was only not admitted into court because that body guard was deceased and could not testify. So there is that. Because of that I am like 99.9% sure she cut his finger off.

The jury decided the monetary amounts of the awarded damages. And they were instructed to come up with number not only based on the testimony of what each lost career wise, but to also punish the defamer so as to discourage other people from committing defamation in the future. In other words, the jury was instructed to make an example out of her.
