I just can't imagine listening to songs like Hey Jude and Let It Be and concluding anything other than the Beatles understood what great soul altering music sounds like!

Imagine is my all time favorite song ever, and what I want played when my ashes are scattered. I was actually never a huge Beatles fan. Even though I am 58, and remember clearly when John was murdered, I knew next to nothing about the Beatles and John's life. I am so saddened by his life; so full of pain and loss and that he inflicted that pain and loss onto his own family. I had always assumed he embodied the lofty values so eloquently expounded in Imagine. It's like finding out that Atticus Finch cheated on his bar exam....such a disappointment. I guess we are all so very human. Speaking of Imagine - I think John may have enjoyed the touching cover performed by Chris Klafford on the 2019 season of AGT. https://youtu.be/HxM_ZGQ3mcY feel free to remove the link if it is inappropriate.
