Ever since I attempted suicide at age 11 I’ve had derealization and it’s not episodes of derealization, it’s always there and it has been there for years and years. At this point I’m used to it and I’ve accepted things may never be the same but it really depressed me for a long time. I haven’t met another person who has constant derealization. It gets worse at times but it’s always there.

I am someone who also is in a constant state of either depersonalization or derealization. Its a conversation I have had with my therapistt a decent amount when she asks me how often and I cant rememebrr a time when I did feel real or reality felt real. I agree I have gotten used to it, there are some times its more severe too but I hope you feel less alone knowing I can relate.

Is it really hard to know why this condition is more prevalent in females?... We haven't exactly had it easy. We take a lot of abuse. Not that boys don't. But boys tend to be elevated more than girls. Treated with more respect and trust. This can definitely be a mitigating factor, in my opinion.
