My partner comes from a very enmeshed family. He didn’t understand why he felt the way he did until we had to move in with his parents for a short period of time. Right away something felt so off. It was hard to pin point initially as they seemed like such a close family and incredibly loving. We are currently working through setting boundaries and his mother is currently giving me the silent treatment.
