Ok, so I have to ask- why did all 3 of you think to compare this movie to any other superhero movie? If you ever get a chance to see one of the interviews, the point of this movie was to be a stand-alone movie, with no intent to continue any idea of the superhereo comics or Marval/ DC movies. I think a good comparison for a nior movie or darker movie would probably be a Beautiful Mind, Watchmen, I think DC should be humanizing their heroes more and start giving better plots.

It was a great movie and an interesting episode, I work a lot now and you publish a lot of podcast, so I can't keep up, but I am a listener for many years :) After watching the movie i was interested to hear your opinion, so I checked if you had an episode (was kind of sure you did). I think you (your guests) underestimate how delusional was Arthur. You said "the guy who sold him out" "he set him up"about the guy who gave him a gun. But it is pretty obvious, that Arthur imagined it - he looks for a father figure the whole movie, obviously the guy didn't tell him "you have to take care of your self, you are my boy" and bla bla bla, Arthur asked him for a gun, than he got it somewhere else, then he just belived, that he was given it from a man who cares about him. Obviously collegues, who think he is really weird wouldn't offer him a gun. It was the same delusion as being invited to the Stage at the show or people laughing at his Stand up performance. I think it was wrong to show the moments with his "girlfriend" "fight club style" - like proving he was really alone. It was enough to show him in her apartment und then we can try to work out what else what not real. Like obviously no one wrote nice letters to the show after Arthurs stand up videos were shown. I guess clown riot were also not real, the mask the rioters use is the mask Arthur has at home. For example it could be riot, Arthur kind of projected his need to be admired to it. I really hoped to see how did get his scars, but we didn't. When we get a director cut of Joker - it would be the first director cut I would watch )
