Maybe the therapist and/or teacher has narcolepsy or some other underlying medical condition?

I attended a talk with Carl Whitaker, one of the preeminent early family therapists. He talked about falling asleep in the middle of a family therapy session. The family got upset with him. He replied, “You’re paying for my time, not my interest. If you don’t want me to fall asleep, be more interesting!” Not saying I’d ever do that, and certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. But the podcast reminded me of that.
