One last thing. In "Into the Abyss" (about a triple homicide and the person on death row for it in Texas) Werner Herzog says something to the guy convicted of the murder that "Just because I think you shouldn't be killed doesn't mean I like you. Human beings should not be killed, simple as that." It comes pretty close to summing up how I feel about Adnan. Just because I think there may not have been sufficient evidence there to convict him doesn't mean I think he's innocent or like him personally. I don't, at all. I think that's part of why the Rabia/HBO documentary bothered me so much.

It would be really interesting to run a study on True Crime fans with strong opinions about Syed about the documentary. I am sure you would find their interpretations differed, but it would be interesting to find out how much they differed. The topic of bias and how much background information influences our current thoughts has always fascinated me.
