i really appreciated this episode because i recently got a job as a residential counselor at a mental health/substance abuse treatment program, and though it's not dealing with people as volatile as michael has, it can still be pretty intense. the main house i work at has up to 16 clients living in one house, and when shit goes down, it's not pretty. and for those 16 clients, there's on average 2-3 staff members. sometimes you'll end up working solo, and basically you spend that whole shift praying that nothing goes wrong because what do you do? lock yourself in the office and cry? 🤣 and of course not to mention, we're chronically underpaid, understaffed, and undertrained. and dont even get me started on when staff starts provoking/mistreating clients... gah
