Ayeeeee!! Thanks for the shout out! This is my second semester teaching, and it's definitely been a trial by fire. My experience may be different from yours because I'm teaching undergrad Psych, so the students are much different. I actually really love it. I think students don't expect class to be fun, so one of the things I love to do is being a "hypeman" for the field and getting the students pumped for all the things I love about the field. I definitely get the "Oh god, am I doing this right?" tape playing in my head, but at the end of the day, I'm putting much more importance on that than anyone else is. All last semester, I worried endlessly about my course evaluations from the students, and they came back very good. Hopefully I continue to like it so I can teach grad-level classes.

Yeah, teaching in college can do a number on your self-esteem. It's rough. But yeah, keep up the positive self-talk. And reach out to your colleagues!
