Very insightful episode. I really appreciate your advice for coping with having a loved one suffer from an eating disorder. I don’t know if this is commonly known, but in German the word for anorexia “Magersucht” actually includes the word for addiction, “Sucht”, so the association is definitely there. Another thing I want to note: You say "we can all imagine what [sexual attraction] might feel like" - that's the thing, not all of us can! I find it interesting when people talk about it without really talking about it, and asexual people are never any wiser except to note that we definitely don't know what it feels like. When you were describing how other therapists talk about experiencing erotic countertransference, and you noted how they are describing something you've never experienced, that's a lot of asexuals’ experience when it comes to sexual attraction.
