I was able to obtain a single 16mm reel of Crusader Rabbit a few months ago. It is from Crusader in the Tenth Century. Unfortunately, that is a 30 part crusade and this reel is only part 29 of 30, so much context + the conclusion are absent.

For those who do not know, Crusader Rabbit was the first made-for-TV animated series. It features very limited animation (it makes Hanna-Barbera look like Disney), but the writing is very witty nonetheless.

The series is very rare. Outside of two VHS releases by Rhino video in the early 1990s(which were discontinued to do 20th Century Fox holding the copyright), there is not anything publicly available from the the original first run (the series was later revived in color).

In addition to the Baby Seal, I will also be working on this. Because the animation is so limited, I will probably finish this first and be able to move on to another scan.

I watched Crusader Rabbit in B+W when I was a kid, maybe 8 years old. The cartoons were so short they fit between regular shows. The animation was very jerky, maybe 3 or 4 fps. But I loved it.

I find them very entertaining. Good, humorous writing. Unfortunately, outside 2 VHS releases in the 90s, there's nothing. This one I acquired is #29 of 30 of a crusade. I wish I could find more.
